COTABATO CITYย โ Seventeen high-powered firearms were turned over to the military by Moro families in Maguindanao del Sur locked in clan wars, the Army said. The firearms were presented to Brig Gen. Edgar Catu, commander of the Army’s 601st Infantry Brigade in Mamasapano, Maguindanao del Sur on Friday. Catu said the surrender has reduced the threat of armed violence whenever families in Mamasapano have misunderstandings. The firearms were surrendered a day earlier to Lt. Col.
